ESTD.1886

As a lifelong Gooner, I was ecstatic when my aunt passed the family season tickets over to me and my dad. I had been going for years, but it was usually only when she couldn’t. A dream of going with my dad now coming true. The only problem… we were sh*te. Going to matches wasn’t as fun as it used to be. The stars were leaving, and the incomings were either frustrating or just never arrived. Somehow during this dark period the cold nights felt even colder and the burgers even staler. The 60,000 fans were always there, even if they were berating the team for 90 minutes. (Big up Nigel.) Maybe I was a fool to believe it would get better, but I did, thinking we’d be back one day and I needed to document it. The project officially started in 2019 and things got much worse before they got better. On many occasions getting a photo was the only thing that stopped me from selling my ticket, but the rejuvenation of the club and the growing energy I have witnessed from the fans made it all worth it.
